October 24, 2023

Anord Mardix to expand its physical footprint in key market within the data centre industry

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, is a global leader in the critical power industry and has officially commenced construction of a second facility in Dundalk, called D2.

Situated close to its sister site (Tanola House), D2 is located on IDA Business & Technology Park and will boast an impressive 11,150 sq. meter (120,000 sq. ft) production space, which will be completed over two phases. The first phase is expected to be operational in the first three months of 2024.

This substantial investment not only includes the construction of the new facility, but also will involve an upgrade of the original facility and reflects the firm’s continued ambition for expansion and growth in the North East of Ireland.

The two Irish sites will work together to further support clients and customers in the critical power industry both in Ireland and around the world.

The D2 site will be the assembly hub while the original D1 location will house fabrication and sub-assembly. The D1 venue will also see existing equipment upgraded to state-of-the-art fabrication machinery, which will improve and facilitate product fabrication for our existing team.

The expansion will create up to 200 new jobs adding to the more than 380 who are currently employed in Dundalk. A wide variety of job positions will be available in a broad spectrum of disciplines, such as production and manufacturing roles, office-based engineering roles, key management positions, as well as facilities and operations staff.

James Peacock Managing Director, Anord Mardix said: “The expansion of our operations in Dundalk comes at an exciting time for the business. We are experiencing global commercial growth at an exponential rate. This expansion will only strengthen the Group’s capability to meet demand for our market-leading critical power products and services, both in Ireland and around the world.”

Also commenting, Rachel Hughes, Senior HR Business Partner at Anord Mardix said, “The creation of hundreds of jobs is great news for Dundalk and the surrounding communities of the North East. This expansion would not be possible without the hard work of all our current employees, it is a reflection of their dedication to the business and we look forward to expanding our highly skilled team in Dundalk. We are excited to open our new building, expanding our operation in Dundalk and the challenges and opportunities that will bring.”
