Anord Mardix Opens Facility in Indonesia

October 24, 2023

Anord Mardix continues it's global expansion with the addition of a new production space in Batam, Indonesia.

Comprising circa 35,000 sq. ft. this state-of-the-art facility is housed within the existing Flex Batam FTZ campus, where sustainability is a cornerstone and best global manufacturing practices are standard operating procedure.

Within this highly accredited facility, we have also expanded the Anord Mardix team in the local region, who will build, test and pack DATABAR DXC Busway, End Feed Units and Tap-Off Units on bespoke assembly lines.

This facility marks the synergy between Flex and Anord Mardix, which is optimised utilising the Flex flow from component placement, assembly and testing to high quality Anord Mardix finished goods, ready for rapid deployment.

Buoyed by the sound of traditional Indonesian music and a dance troupe the Anord Mardix (a Flex company) Databar Busway facility was officially opened in Batamindo, Muka Kuning – Batam, Indonesia on the 16th of June 2023. Betel leaves were auspiciously distributed to signify welcome to country, good fortune and future sustainable success.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by Dave Yeo, Jon Hodgson, Desmond Goh, Yati Laila, and Bruce Moore and under the watchful eye of Jon Hodgson and the Flex production crew the initial Databar Busway Housings rolled off the assembly line with performance testing overseen by Josh Jolley and the Flex Batam team before fittingly adorned in red ribbon to acknowledge this auspicious occasion.

Inaugurating this Databar facility is a key milestone in achieving a core commitment to highly valued global Hyperscale, Cloud, Co-Lo and Edge Compute customers to build closer to their burgeoning Data Centre investments across the Asia Pacific geography to reduce lead time and reduce carbon emissions in an environment where provisioning of safe, reliable, flexible, modular power distribution systems is essential for supporting high density IT electrical loads.

Accomplishing this objective is the culmination of investment and contribution from multiple stakeholders since setting the strategic goal and subsequent expansive collaboration between the Anord Mardix global headquarters in the U.K and the Flex global and Batam team to deliver a facility ready for Day 1 production within a 12-month window, including training well skilled local talent at the Batam campus.

Excitingly the footprint of the Flex Batam campus enables Anord Mardix to redefine architecture of critical power infrastructure that can be designed, built, tested, delivered and supported across the Asia Pacific region in due course with the reassurance of comprehensive engineering excellence that remains the Anord Mardix DNA.
